Darlington Marshall, Benard King, Colbourne Walters, Roger Yarde, Trevor Alleyne, Mark McConney, Neville Bayley, Victor Reid, Courtney Bramao, and Sister Jean Alleyne\u2014came together to establish a Savings Society. Their aim was clear: to create a financial institution that would give its members greater access to savings and affordable credit.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tab][vc_tab title=&#8221;1966&#8243; tab_id=&#8221;1557426757629-1-1&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; css_params=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><b>1966 \u2013 A Credit Union is Born<\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p3\">Just over a year later, on September 16, 1966, the fledgling society was officially registered as BET Co-operative Credit Union Ltd.
